Canada election results: Lambton–Kent–Middlesex

Conservative incumbent Lianne Rood is projected to be re-elected in the riding of Lambton–Kent–Middlesex.

Incumbent Conservative Lianne Rood is projected to be re-elected for a second term, continuing the party’s longtime hold on the riding. Rood was first elected in 2019 after Bev Shipley, who held the seat for the Conservatives from 2006-2015, chose not to run for re-election.

The riding has been dominated by the Conservatives for a majority of its 24 year history. The only other person to represent the riding was Rose Marie Ur, who served as a Liberal from 1997 until 2005.

Lambton-Kent-Middlsex is located in southwestern Ontario.  It features the County of Lambton, as well as the municipalities of Brooke-Alvinston and Lambton Shores, the townships of Dawn-Euphemia and Warwick. It includes a portion of Lake Huron, Lake St. Clair and the Thames River.

Conservative Bev Shipley held the seat from 2006 until 2019, when he did not seek re-election.

Conservative MP Lianne Rood ran and won in 2019 with 49 per cent of the vote.

As of 2016, the riding’s population is 105,331, according to the latest census.
