A wildfire is burning near the Trans-Canada Highway in B.C.’s Southern Interior, but traffic is not being affected.
According to the BC Wildfire Service, the blaze is between Salmon Arm and Sicamous, on the southwest side of Shuswap Lake.
BC Wildfire says 24 personnel are on scene, as are members of the Sicamous Fire Department.
The fire’s size was first estimated to be 0.9 of a hectare, but was reduced to a half-hectare at noon.
As of 3:30 p.m., the fire’s size was said to be 0.6 of a hectare, and that there was no further growth.

A helicopter was used in the attack earlier on, but has since been released.
BC Wildfire says no structures are being threatened, and firefighters are expected to be there well into the evening.
