Bloc Québecois candidate Alexis Brunelle-Duceppe is the projected winner in the riding of Lac-Saint-Jean.
Lac-Saint-Jean is located in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region in northeastern Quebec.
The Bloc Québécois’s Alexis Brunelle-Duceppe won the seat in 2019 with 44 per cent of the vote.
Prior to Brunelle-Duceppe’s win, the riding had been a Conservative stronghold since the time MP Denis Lebel was elected to the riding (which was then called Roberval—Lac-Saint-Jean) in 2007.
However, Lebel resigned in June 2017 and Liberal MP Richard Hébert won the ensuing byelection in October of that year with 38.59 per cent of the vote. He previously served as mayor of Dolbeau-Mistassini from 2013 to 2017.
