Under the Dome, which stars Montreal native Rachelle Lefevre, debuted on Global to 2.6 million viewers, according to BBM Canada.

South of the border, the series premiere attracted more than 16 million viewers.

Based on Stephen King’s book of the same name, the drama follows the residents of a small town that is suddenly covered by an invisible and impenetrable dome.

The series is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, whose made-in-Vancouver series Falling Skies was recently renewed for a fourth season on U.S. cable channel TNT and whose new ABC series Lucky 7 just began production in Toronto.
