Calgary police are investigating the death of a 35-year-old man in the northeast community of Marlborough earlier this week.
On June 29, police received a call from a mother who had not heard from her son in six days, officers said. On the same day, police responded to a report of a home in the 200 block of Margate Close N.E., where the missing person may have been seen last.
During an initial search of the house, police said a body believed to be the missing person was found inside.
Following an autopsy, the victim was identified as Nathaniel Goodeye, however, police said the cause of death is not being released at this time.
Three people inside the house at the time of the search were taken into custody and later released without charges, police said.
The search of the home is ongoing and on Thursday morning, officers could still be seen at the home.
Area resident Hussein Zeineddine told Global News he heard a commotion on June 30, and wonders if it was related to the investigation.
“I was sleeping and I heard somebody just screaming,” Zeineddine said.
“I opened the window and I saw police lights flashing around. I stepped out and all I saw were police cars standing around, and that’s it. That’s all we know.”
Several neighbours told Global News a plainclothes detective had been going to a number of people’s houses in the area to ask if they had any security footage that could help police with their investigation.
