The first episode will be screened at 7 p.m. on July 1 at the Silver Snail comic shop in Toronto.
Also lending their voices to the reboot are Paul Amos as Mr. Gold, Laura Vandervoort as Blue Fox and Tatiana Maslany in a mystery role.
Captain Canuck — first published by Comely Comix of Winnipeg — follows the adventures of secret agent Tom Evans, who developed superpowers. His nemesis, Mr. Gold, is a wealthy industrialist seeking world domination.
The reboot has Evans in a Canada that is a technology and energy superpower.
The web series, made possible thanks to nearly $52,000 raised via Indiegogo, is designed to bring the iconic character to a new generation. It was created by Toronto-based Smiley Guy Studios.
A live-action feature film is currently in development.
