Lockdown, hold and secures lifted at Lockview High School and surrounding schools

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident that resulted in the lockdown of Lockview High School in Fall River, N.S.

In a tweet posted at around 12:30 p.m. Monday, Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) said police were dealing with a “situation in the area.”

Surrounding elementary and junior highs were placed on hold and secure as a result, according to the board.

Less than an hour later, HRCE said the lockdown and hold and secures were lifted.

Nova Scotia RCMP confirmed in a tweet just before 2:45 p.m. that they were called to a weapons complaint at 12:09 p.m.

The suspect was arrested less than an hour later, according to police, and a weapon was recovered.

There were no injuries.
