Police in Newfoundland and Labrador say a 12-year-old boy whose disappearance prompted an Amber Alert has been found safe.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) said it received a report Thursday that a boy in Corner Brook, N.L., was allegedly abducted by his father.
The boy was found safe with the assistance of the RCMP just before 7 p.m., the RNC said.
He was located after authorities received a tip about a potential sighting in Port aux Basques, N.L.
Port aux Basques is roughly 220 km south of Corner Brook on the west coast of Newfoundland.
The father was arrested “without incident” and is facing charges of parental abduction, theft of a vehicle and breaching a court order.
He will appear in court on Friday.
