Watch: The Tenors get a Mother’s Day surprise

TORONTO – Members of Canadian singing group The Tenors got a special Mother’s Day surprise Sunday when their mothers joined them on stage during a concert in Chicago.

Fraser Walters, Clifton Murray, Victor Micallef and Remigio Pereira had just finished performing “Forever Young” at the Auditorium Theatre — a stop on the group’s 70-city North American tour — when they turned around to see their mothers.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

As the audience erupted in cheers, the stunned singers became emotional as they embraced their moms.

“She got me, she got me,” said a teary-eyed Murray.

Earlier in the day, The Tenors posted a video serenade to Esther Murray, winner of the group’s Mother’s Day contest.

Chicago is a city of surprises for The Tenors, who were joined on stage by Celine Dion while performing on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2010.
