June Shannon, more commonly known as “Mama June” from TLC reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, was arrested last week on drug possession charges.
The District Attorney’s Office of Macon County, Alabama, has confirmed that Shannon was arrested and charged Wednesday with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

The representative from the district attorney’s office couldn’t confirm Shannon’s arraignment date or whether or not the reality mom was still in custody. It’s also unclear what drugs were allegedly in her possession.
The arrest took place after a “domestic incident” with her boyfriend Geno Doak, 43. Doak was charged with suspicion of domestic violence/harassment as well as possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Shannon also starred in series Mama June: From Not to Hot, which featured the 39-year-old undergoing multiple procedures and diets to lose weight, change her appearance and adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Two years ago, Shannon revealed a drastic 200-pound-plus weight loss on the show (the exact number is unconfirmed). In early 2018, Shannon claimed to have lost more than 300 lbs.
During the premiere of the reality show, Shannon said she was inspired to lose weight after her ex, Mike Thompson (who goes by the name of Sugar Bear), announced he was getting remarried. The couple, parents to 13-year-old Alana Thompson (a.k.a. Honey Boo Boo), were in a common-law marriage for over a decade. They split after he admitted to cheating on Shannon.
As of this writing, neither Shannon nor her representative has commented publicly on the arrest.
