TORONTO — Michael Bublé says former Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke deserves credit for the team making it into the playoffs.
“Good for Brian Burke,” the singer said Sunday before the Juno Awards in Regina. “Good for Brian Burke, whose hockey team is in the playoffs.”
Burke was fired in January after four losing seasons behind the Leafs bench. He was replaced by Dave Nonis.

Speaking to Maurie Sherman, producer of KiSS 92.5’s Roz & Mocha Show, Bublé said he was happy the Leafs have a shot at the Cup this year.
“It’s good for hockey,” said the B.C.-born crooner.
“I hope Burke is sitting with a cold beer and real pleased with himself because, you know what, this is the plan he had and it came to fruition.”
