Waterloo police catch Kitchener man racing on Highway 8 at 175 km/h

Waterloo Regional Police are looking for a second car after an officer observed a pair of vehicles racing up Highway 8 at speeds of up to 175 km/h.

Police arrested the man who was driving a grey Volkswagon Jetta which was clocked at 175 km/h near the Grand River Bridge, well over the 100 km/h limit.

The driver, a 29-year-old, is facing several charges including stunt driving. His vehicle was also impounded and his licence was suspended for seven days.

Police are still on the lookout for a bright blue Subaru sedan and are asking anyone with information to call 519-570-9777 ext. 8856.
