Kitchener high school student awarded $100,000 scholarship

A Grade 12 student at Cameron Heights Collegiate is one of 35 students across Canada to be awarded the Loran Award.

Meena Waseem was one of more than 5,000 students who applied for the award, which comes with a $100,000 scholarship to any Canadian university.

Waseem is the Cameron Heights student president who also organized the school’s first-ever mental-health assembly and also a successful hurricane relief fundraiser, according to her Loran bio.
