Kingston man arrested for alleged possession of over 300 child pornography files

A Kingston man was arrested as part of a Kingston police investigation into the sharing of child pornography.

As part of an ongoing investigation by the Kingston police child exploitation unit, officers monitoring file-sharing networks associated with child pornography were able to detect a local user.

On Nov. 17, police say they identified more than 300 child pornography files on a computer connected to one of these file-sharing networks.

Once Kingston police obtained a production order for the subscriber’s information, police say they matched the IP to a man in Kingston.

As a result of the investigation, on Feb. 6, around 6:20 a.m., police executed a search warrant at a north-end home in Kingston.

Police claim they found child pornography files when they examined the man’s digital devices.

The 28-year-old man was charged with possession of child pornography.
