Regina sailor charged with sexual assault at Halifax base in 2018

Editor’s Note: This article has been updated to remove the name of the accused as the charges against them were dismissed in court. 

A reservist with a unit from Regina has been charged with sexual assault in connection with an alleged incident a CFB Halifax in March 2018.

The Canadian Armed Forces Department of National Defence says military police in Halifax received a report in June 2018 of a possible sexual assault that was alleged to have occurred at the end of March 2018.

The investigation began at the complainant’s request, and as a result, a reservist with HMCS Queen, has been charged with one count of sexual assault.

They were a full-time employee at CFB Halifax at the time of the alleged assault.

They were scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on March 4.
