Alberta election: Calgary-Mountain View results

Global News has projected Kathleen Ganley to take the riding of Calgary-Mountain View for the NDP.

Below is a full list of the candidates for the riding of Calgary-Mountain View, an inner-city riding bordering on the north shore of the Bow River.

Quick take

Liberal Leader David Khan is looking to take the Calgary-Mountain View seat, which had previously been held by colleague Dr. David Swann for four terms. Also vying for the seat is Justice Minister Kathleen Ganley, who currently holds the legislature seat for Calgary-Buffalo.

The UCP’s original candidate in Calgary-Mountain View was Caylan Ford. However, she resigned on March 18 after online comments she made about race and white supremacist terrorists came to light.

Swann was the only Liberal to win a seat in the 2015 election, leading to speculation on whether the NDP would grant the Liberals official party status.
