TORONTO — Golf enthusiasts tuned to The Masters this weekend have a chance to relive one of the sport’s most memorable moments — the victory by Canada’s Mike Weir a decade ago.
“It’s a moment that sports and history collide and it’s very rare when it happens,” said Kevin Foley, director of the half-hour documentary 4 Days in April: The Mike Weir Story.
The special looks at how the Ontario native became the first Canadian to wear the Green Jacket at Augusta. The story of Weir’s journey is told by the golfer himself as well as the people around him.

“He was absolutely lovely and ready to reflect on his career,” Foley said of Weir.
The doc also features interviews with Tiger Woods, Fred Couples, Wayne Gretzky and others.

During an appearance on Global’s The Morning Show, Foley said 4 Days in April will appeal to more than just golf fans.
“Mike’s is a human story,” he explained. “It speaks to determination and perseverence and all the things of a guy going out there and doing something that had never been done before.”
