A 37-year-old Golden, B.C. man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. RCMP will not be releasing his name.

RCMP said a preliminary investigation suggests a pickup truck was heading north on Highway 63 when it crossed over the centre line and collided head on with a southbound semi truck.

Traffic in both directions was re-routed around the collision to Highway 827 overnight.
