Homicide team called after man’s body found in Richmond home

Police say the death is considered suspicious. File / Global News

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in after a man’s body was found in a home on Thursday morning.

Just after 8:30 a.m., Richmond RCMP were called to the 9000-block of Odlin Road where they found a man’s body in the house.

IHIT has now identified the victim as 37-year-old Michael Thompson of Richmond. Thompson was known to police.

“The investigation is in its early stages and it is unknown if this incident was targeted,” said Cpl. Frank Jang of IHIT.  “IHIT is releasing Mr. Thompson’s name to garner information from the community regarding his activities leading up to his death.”

“We’re asking anyone with information please to come forward,” said Jang.
