Winnipeg police said a woman knocked on several doors and stole keys while pretending to ask for help, then stole homeowners’ cars.
Officers said the 22-year-old woman knocked on doors on May 24 and 27 asking for help.

When she was let inside, she stole keys and money from the homeowners.
Both times, she returned back to the homes after leaving to steal cars belonging to the residents.
Kayla Ivy Chaske faces charges for breaking and entering, theft under $5,000 and theft of a motor vehicle.
Police are reminding homeowners not to let strangers into their homes, and suggest speaking with people via locked doors if they ask for help.
They also encourage you to call 911 if you feel unsafe or suspicious of the person’s motives.
