A 49-year-old man, Jérôme Latham, was arrested in Brockville, Ont. Tuesday in connection to Saturday’s fatal shooting in Pointe-Claire.
He appeared in a Quebec courtroom Wednesday, charged with second degree murder.
According to Montreal Police, Latham met with the 34-year-old victim in the parking lot of a hotel by the Trans-Canada Highway to conduct a drug deal.

A 911 call reporting an unconscious man on the ground in the parking lot was made at around 4:30 p.m. Police found the victim had been shot at least once.
Latham was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police.
This is the 12th murder on the island of Montreal in 2018.
