Wellington County OPP say a 74-year-old Erin, Ont. woman is facing charges for allegedly putting her granddaughter in the trunk of a car before driving away.
Police were called to an address on Main Street in Erin on the night of Friday, June 22 by witnesses while the incident was allegedly unfolding, but when officers showed up, the vehicle was gone.
Police said a tip from the public later in the day helped identify the woman and the toddler.

The woman has been charged with failing to ensure a toddler is properly secured.
The child was returned to her parents without any injuries. Family and Children Services were notified and are now investigating, according to OPP.
OPP said they would not be identifying the suspect to protect the identity of the child.
