Cash, alcohol stolen in La Ronge, Sask. armed robbery

Two people believed to be responsible for an armed robbery in La Ronge, Sask., remain at large.

La Ronge RCMP were called to the business in the 900-block of La Ronge Avenue around 6 p.m. CT on June 9.

Police said two people with bandanas covering their faces and armed with a gun entered the business. They stole an undisclosed amount of money and multiple bottles of alcohol.

Both were last seen fleeing westbound on Hastings Street. No injuries were reported.

The week after the robbery, Zachary Charles, 18, and a 16-year-old boy were arrested and charged.

However, police announced June 27 that new information has come forward and those charges have been stayed.

RCMP, along with the Prince Albert and La Ronge general investigation sections, are still looking into the armed robbery.

La Ronge is about 345 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
