A mother of four boys has died after she was hit by a truck during a rampage in Maple Ridge on Feb. 1.
Kelly Sandoval has been confirmed dead, almost two months after an incident that saw a Dodge pickup truck “drive recklessly” near a McDonald’s on Dewdney Trunk Road, police told Global News.
She is survived by her husband and four boys, aged five, 10, 13 and 16, according to a statement from her family.

“The family of Kelly Sandoval is deeply saddened at her sudden passing and are requesting the media respect our privacy as we deal with the loss of our beloved Kelly,” the statement said.
“This is a very difficult time and we are grateful for the love and support of our family and friends.”
The incident unfolded when police received a call about a black Dodge pickup truck near the McDonald’s at about 3 p.m.
The driver first left a parking stall and backed into a parked vehicle before he drove forward into a drive-thru, hit barricades, then jumped the curbed laneway and hit a bus shelter, shattering the glass.
Police said at the time that a woman and her son were injured and that they both received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Sandoval and her two youngest sons had been dropped off in the area so they could catch a bus that day, according to a GoFundMe page set up to support the family.
A man then started driving his truck and came right toward Sandoval and her sons.
One of the sons managed to evade the truck’s path; Sandoval threw the other son out of the way, the GoFundMe page said.
“She sacrificed herself to ensure the safety of her child,” the page read.
Sandoval was hit by the truck, leaving her with cuts on her head that needed stitches, as well as “major bruising all over both her legs and her left arm and a major hematoma on her leg,” it said.
The hematoma required her to go to hospital for IV antibiotics every day, it added.
Sandoval’s death is “new information and will form part of the investigation,” RCMP Sgt. Brenda Gresiuk said in an email.
“This is an active investigation and no further details will be released.”
Sandoval’s family has set up a trust fund for the boys, and anyone who wishes to contribute can do so at a TD branch, account number 91040-004-6682946.
The GoFundMe page is also working to raise money for the family “so they can pay their expenses during these hard times.”
The page has a fundraising goal of $5,000. It had raised just over $1,200 as of Friday morning.
