More than three months after a truck smashed into it, South Surrey’s 152nd Street overpass crossing Highway 99 is once again open to traffic.
The Ministry of Transportation says it began allowing vehicles over the span on Monday.
Traffic issues remain on Highway 99, though the ministry says both northbound lanes are expected to fully re-open over “the next few days.”

It added that construction work at the site isn’t finished and officials are asking drivers to watch for construction crews and obey all posted signs.
The overpass was closed after a truck collided with it on Dec. 4 causing structural damage which the ministry said required “extensive repairs.”

That forced the months-long closure of the northbound lane to 152 Street, and leading to complaints from businesses in the South Point Annex that customers were shying away to avoid the traffic headaches.
In January, the ministry said repair work — which included removing and replacing damaged overpass girders and demolishing and reconstructing its bridge deck — would stretch until April.
