Manitoba music fans will get a chance to soak up the sun at this year’s Winnipeg Folk Festival.
Nine-time Grammy Award winner Sheryl Crow will be one of the headliners at the 45th annual festival, which runs July 5-8 at Birds Hill Park.
Other main acts include Bahamas, The Strumbellas, Courtney Barnett, Elle King, and Passenger.
More than 70 artists from eight different countries are set to hit the festival stage which will feature folk, roots, bluegrass, pop, rock, electronic, Celtic and world music artists from around the globe.
Executive director Lynne Skromeda says a diverse lineup is their focus every year.
“Having lots of different kinds of things that you never otherwise get a chance to see in Winnipeg. That’s part of our mandate, a discovery element to the festival is really important.
The lineup also includes 36 female artists or bands with women in them performing.
Early bird tickets are available until April 30 at the festival’s website, winnipegfolkfestival.ca.
