Student’s note to neighbour about loud sex romps a hit on social media

One New York student just had to say something to her neighbour about their loud love-making sessions by sending them a note.

When it comes to sex, some of us are louder than others. That’s what one student figured out when her neighbour’s noisy romps became too much of a distraction, sparking a back-and-forth that’s since become a social media must-share.

Jenna Levine, 19, is a student at Syracuse University in New York. Her neighbour’s noisy love-making had apparently become such a problem that she felt she had to do something about it.

So the day before Halloween Levine wrote up a note and slipped it under her neighbour’s door. Before doing so, however, she made sure to share it with the world on Twitter.

“Hello neighbor,” the note reads. “Please have sex a little more quietly please. Some of us are trying to nap and not be reminded how alone I am… Feel free to make all the love you want. Just please, make it nasty at a lower volume. Thank you!”

Not long after, Levine received a response from her neighbour, which was delivered on an appropriately-themed banana postcard.

“Dearest neighbors,” the neighbour wrote. “I am so so incredibly sorry about that. I didn’t realize how loud I was being, and ya know, sometimes having loud sex is low key kind of hot but obviously at your cost, which I apologize so sincerely for. I’m so so sorry, I hope this hasn’t occurred too often, and thanks so much for the incredible and hilarious card. I will for sure try to make it nasty at a significantly lower level. And hey, don’t you worry, you’re not alone forever. The right person will come along when the time comes. I was single for 18 years. Haha. Once again, I apologize so sincerely and deeply.”

Attached to the note was a chocolate bar wrapped in gold that read, “Deepest apologies. Hope you enjoy this chocolate bar!”

The neighbourly exchange was a hit on social media, even prompting others to share their experiences with their loud and sexy neighbours.

Since her exchange with her neighbour went viral, Levine has said on her Twitter, “Can’t make this stuff up.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, Levine’s post had garnered over 46,000 retweets and 110,000 likes.
