Edmonton police are investigating after a man went into a coffee shop Thursday morning claiming he had been shot.
Police received a call at around 7 a.m. from staff at a coffee shop near 75 Street and 101 Avenue when an injured man, believed to be in his mid-30s, came into the store to ask for help.
He told police that he was at a friend’s home less than a block away when three masked men came in and allegedly shot him.
EMS responded, treated the man and took him to hospital. His injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, EPS said.
The tactical team secured and cleared a home on the same block as the coffee shop. No one was found inside.
Police continue to investigate and search for suspects.
