WINNIPEG — A new juice bar has popped up Winnipeg’s Wolseley area, offering health nuts a delicious and nutrient rich menu.
Verde Juice Bar, located on 887 Westminister Avenue, opened in late June. Since then, the owners, Rob Bohay and Giorgo Mantas said business has been booming.
“We felt there needed to be more café-style environments with healthy options, and a juice-smoothie bar seemed like a perfect addition to Winnipeg,” Bohay said.
“Building the menu, we wanted to have nutrient dense options for people.”
The café offers a variety of smoothies, freshly made on the spot juices, using natural ingredients with an emphasis on locally sourced produce.
“During the heat waves, we notice the ‘Refresh Juice’ is the most popular item, which has watermelon, mint, lime and cucumber,” Bohay said.
In addition to juices, the restaurant features meals such as the acai bowl, which has blown up as most popular item. The “superfood” bowl is layered with a bunch of toppings, such as strawberries, granola, hemp hearts and coconut.
Verde Juice Bar is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
