Police searching for suspect in downtown Toronto armed robbery

Police are asking the public for help locating a suspect in connection with an armed robbery in Toronto’s downtown core from earlier this year.

Toronto police officers responded to an armed robbery in the Bathurst Street and Fort York Boulevard area at around 11 p.m. on Feb. 24.

Police said two men entered a victim’s apartment and robbed them at gunpoint.

Investigators arrested Reece Korchinski, 22, of Markham, on March 1 and charged him with forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, two counts of robbery with a firearm, three counts of pointing a firearm and three counts of threatening death.

Police said a second, unidentified suspect is being sought by investigators and he is described as black, aged about 24 years old, standing 5’9″ with a thin build, brown eyes, a shaved head, pointy nose and a tattoo on his left hand.

A photo of the suspect has been released by police. He is described as “armed and dangerous.” Police said that if seen, do not approach the suspect and instead call 911.
