Police issue Canada-wide search warrant for convicted armed robber in Toronto

Police are asking the public for help in locating a federal inmate wanted on a countrywide warrant for breaching parole while serving more than seven years for armed robbery and other offences.

The Ontario Provincial Police’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad issued the warrant for  27-year-old Ilyas Moussali on Wednesday.

Moussali was serving seven years and two months for armed robbery, possession of an unregistered restricted weapon, possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order and two counts of trafficking in a scheduled I/II substance.

He is described as a Middle Eastern male, standing 5’3” (160 cm) and weighing 161 pounds.

Police said Moussali is known to frequent Toronto and anyone having contact with him or information in regards to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Provincial ROPE Squad at 416-808-5900, toll free at 1-866-870-ROPE (7673), Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or call 9-1-1.
