EDMONTON – A four-month-old bear-coat Shar Pei from Edmonton named “Tonkey Bear” has become an overnight sensation.

A couple months ago, Tonkey’s owner Christine Park created an Instagram account for the adorable dog. She has since gained over 200,000 followers worldwide.

The little furball has been featured on BuzzFeed, The Daily Mail, and The Today Show.

Her owner says the online fame was unexpected. The whole reason she started sharing her lovable pooch with the world was to raise awareness for bear-coated Shar Peis after her breeder told her they were “always the last to go.”
