EDMONTON — Police are investigating a shooting in northeast Edmonton that left one man in serious condition.
A man was shot Friday morning at 184 Habitat Crescent, which is near 50 Street and Hermitage Road. Three men allegedly entered a home and shot another man. Other people were inside the home, police said. The three suspects fled the scene.
The 32-year-old victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A neighbour told Global News the man was shot in the neck.
“A few people have moved in within the past six months and it’s just progressively… every night there’s screaming and arguing and fighting going on,” said Rebecca Tracanelli, who lives nearby.
“Usually this is a good neighbourhood,” said Vanessa Sousa. “There’s kids playing around… I was shocked that this happened.”

“It’s not uncommon around here,” said Sandra Cokerill. ” This used to be a nice place to live but now it’s getting scary.
“It’s getting worse, yes.”
Minutes after the first shooting, gunshots were heard in the area of 47 Street and 118 Avenue.
“We have yet to confirm any rounds being found, anybody being harmed in the neighbourhood,” explained EPS Insp. Regan James.
Police were also called to help EMS at 47 Street and 119 Avenue with a man who appeared to be impaired in a vehicle.
“It is unclear at this point and time if there is any correlation between any of those events,” said James. “I can tell you that it’s still very, very early in the investigative process. They may or may not be related.”
Police are searching for the several suspects in connection with the Habitat Crescent shooting, which investigators believe was targeted.
Anyone who may have seen or heard anything connected to the three events is asked to contact police.
