“The Mendel’s last exhibitions include The Fifth World, an exciting presentation of work by contemporary indigenous artists, organized by Tribe Inc.,” said Gregory Burke, the gallery’s executive director and CEO.
“We are also proud to present the 43rd annual exhibition of School Art and the RBC Artists by Artists mentorship exhibition, Terry Billings & Dee Gibson: Time and Water.”

Frederick Salomon Mendel initiated the construction of the public art museum to celebrate the success of his local meat-packing business, Intercontinental Packers Limited, and to thank Saskatoon for its support.
On Oct. 16, 1964, the Mendel Art Gallery opened its doors on Spadina Crescent.
Its replacement, the Remai Modern Art Gallery of Saskatchewan, is scheduled to open to the public at River Landing in 2016.
