TORONTO — Melanie Griffith has filed for divorce from Antonio Banderas after 18 years of marriage.
TMZ reported Friday the 56-year-old actress cited irreconcilable differences in her filing. She is seeking child support and sole physical and joint legal custody of daughter Stella, who turns 18 in September.
Griffith, who recently played a newly-separated wife on Hawaii Five-0, also wants spousal support from Banderas, 53.
The two stars met while filming the 1995 comedy Two Much.
It will be the second divorce for Banderas, who was married to Ana Leza from 1987 to 1996, and the fourth for Griffith. She was twice married to Don Johnson and also to Steve Bauer.
It is not known when Griffith — who has a tattoo of Banderas’ name on her arm — and Banderas separated. They were last photographed together in public last November.
As of Friday afternoon, Griffith still described herself as “Mrs. Antonio Banderas” on her Twitter profile.
