Stars to shine at 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

TORONTO — The next all-star gathering in Hollywood this awards season comes Saturday, when the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) rolls out 1,500 square-feet of red carpet to honour the year’s best on-camera performances.

Presenters announced Tuesday include Ben Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner, Sasha Alexander, Don Cheadle, Tom Hanks, Jared Leto, Matthew McConaughey, Oprah Winfrey, Forest Whitaker, Kevin Spacey, Clark Gregg and Kerry Washington.

The 20th SAG Awards will be broadcast Sunday at 8:00 p.m. on Global.

Guests will dine on grilled filet mignon and miso-glazed wild salmon while watching winners announced in more than a dozen categories.

Rita Moreno will accept the Life Achievement Award.

The only nominated Canadians are Will Arnett and Michael Cera, whose series Arrested Development is a contender for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
