WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have named Marcel Bellefeuille the team’s offensive co-ordinator for next season.

Bellefeuille joined the club in August, taking over offensive play-calling duties after Gary Crowton was fired. Before moving to Winnipeg, Bellefeuille was the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ head coach for three seasons and held offensive co-ordinator titles with the Alouettes and Roughriders.

Former Bombers quarterback and current Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback coach Khari Jones was thought to be the front-runner for the job.

The Bombers also signed free agent punter Mike Renaud and offensive lineman Steve Morley Monday.

Renaud played the last five seasons with the Bombers. The 30-year-old was fifth among the CFL’s regular punters last year with a 43.9 yard average – his best numbers since entering the league. Renaud was set to become a free agent in February. His new deal is good for three years (two years plus team option).

Morley meanwhile agreed to a two-year contract (one year plus option). After four seasons with the Bombers, Morley wanted to stay in Winnipeg with his common-law wife expecting twins.

Both players have seen numerous regime changes with the club over the years but believe the team is finally heading back in the right direction under general manager Kyle Walters and head coach Mike O’Shea. Morley played one season with O’Shea with the Toronto Argonauts in 2007.
