CALGARY – A bartender from the restaurant Model Milk will be competing against professional mixologists from across Canada as part of a national search for the best female bartender.

Cointreau liqueur launched their ‘Quest for the Best Female Bartender in Canada’ on June 11th.

Officials are travelling across Canada to find ten female finalists who will then compete in December in a Grand Finale.

The final prize will be revealed during the Grand Finale.

1oz botanist gin

1oz cointreau

Egg whites

1oz lime juice

3/4 oz wine sirup

A dash of orange flower water

Top with soda water

Garnish with an edible flower

Alfred Cointreau says the competition is only for females, because the liqueur was created for women.

It was invented in 1875 by Édouard Cointreau, in tribute to his beloved muse Louisa.
