TORONTO — Funnyman Martin Short is coming back to his native land to host the second annual Canadian Screen Awards.
Short, who hails from Hamilton, Ont., was a popular choice for host at last year’s inaugural event, which brought together the Genie and Gemini Awards.
The actor and comedian will return to the stage of Toronto’s Sony Centre for the Performing Arts on March 9.
“I’m thrilled to be back hosting,” Short said in a release on Monday. “Actually, it’s more than a thrill, it’s a contractual obligation.”
