With the doctor shortage expected to get worse in the Okanagan and across B.C., the pressure on walk-in clinics is expected to grow as they serve an increasing number of patients who don’t have a family doctor
Description
March 1, 2018
It's becoming all too common, as more and more Okanagan residents spend hours waiting to see a doctor, sometimes forced to drive from walk-in to walk-in just to secure a same-day appointment.
It's an indication the doctor shortage in B.C.is getting worse. As Klaudia Van Emmerik reports, while physician recruitment is constant, 500 doctor positions remain vacant across the province.
