Global News is projecting incumbent Rakhi Pancholi will keep her seat in the riding of Edmonton-Whitemud for the New Democratic Party, where Raj Sherman was also running for the UCP.
Edmonton-Whitemud is a provincial riding located in Edmonton. This riding is currently represented by New Democratic Party MLA Rakhi Pancholi who first took office in 2019.
Pancholi collected 11,373 votes, winning 49.18 per cent of the vote in the 2019 Alberta provincial election.
UCP candidate Raj Sherman is a former PC MLA and the former leader of the Alberta Liberal Party. He attempted to run in the UCP leadership race last year but was unable to meet all eligibility requirements.
