Alberta election 2023 results: Calgary-North East

Global News is projecting NDP candidate Gurinder Brar will win the riding of Calgary-North East, which was previously held by the United Conservative Party.

Calgary-North East is a provincial riding located in Calgary. This riding is currently represented by United Conservative MLA Rajan Sawhney, who first took office in 2019.

Sawhney collected 8,376 votes, winning 49.35 per cent of the vote in the 2019 Alberta provincial election.

Sawhney announced in February that she would not be running  for re-election. However, on April 1 she announced she would be running but not in Calgary-North East. Instead she is running in Calgary-North West.
