Toronto police say a 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in the city’s downtown core Thursday morning.
Emergency crews were called to O’Keefe Lane, near Yonge and Gerrard streets, at around 11 a.m. for reports of a stabbing.
Police said a man had reportedly been stabbed in the abdomen.
Paramedics said the man was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Police said the injuries were initially believed to be life-threatening, but the man is now in stable condition.
The 16-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
The area where the stabbing happened is near Toronto Metropolitan University campus.
