Halton Regional Police say they are investigating after a cyclist was hit by a car in Oakville, Ont.
Police were called to Upper Middle Road and Eighth Line at around 10:50 a.m. Thursday.
Officers said a four-door vehicle was travelling eastbound on Upper Middle Road when it struck a cyclist travelling in the same direction.
Police said the cyclist was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“A short time later the cyclist succumbed to their injuries,” police said in a news release.
According to police, the drive remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police said the force’s collision reconstruction unit has taken carriage of the investigation.
Anyone with information or who may have surveillance footage of the area is asked to contact police.
