London, Ont. man charged in downtown core bank robbery

London, Ont., police have laid charges in a downtown core bank robbery that took place last week.

A 29-year-old man of London has been charged with robbery and disguise with intent.

According to police, officers were called to the Bank of Montreal (BMO) branch on Dundas Street at Wellington Street around 12:50 p.m. on Friday.

Investigators said that they didn’t see any weapons at the scene, but an unknown amount of Canadian currency was taken before the accused fled on foot.

He is expected in London court on Feb. 27.
