One man has died after an “altercation” in downtown Kelowna, police said.
Police were called to the area outside of downtown Kelowna’s popular Cactus Club around 1 a.m., Sunday.
Officers received a report that a group of people were involved in an altercation in the 1300-block of Water Street.
When RCMP arrived at the scene, they found a man lying on the grass with an apparent stab wound while a bystander attempted life-saving measures.
Shortly after, an ambulance arrived but attempts to save the man were unsuccessful.

Kelowna RCMP said the victim was a 33-year-old man and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Water Street was closed off Sunday morning while officers continued their investigation. The area was taped-off and a black tent could be seen on the grass just outside the business.
The block reopened just after 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
Any potential witnesses or those with possible video footage from the area are being asked to contact Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3000.
