One person was taken to hospital following a garage fire at a home in Peterborough on Thursday afternoon.
Peterborough Fire Services say around 3:38 p.m., crews responded to a report of a garage fire at a home on Brunswick Avenue.
Platoon Chief Don Broersma says crews found a fully involved garage fire with a vehicle on fire inside the garage.
“The intensity of the garage and vehicle fire caused fire to spread to a house on one side of the garage and caused exposure damage to the house on the other side of the garage,” he said.
Broersma said another vehicle in the front of the garage also received extensive damage.
He said firefighters quickly knocked down the fire to the garage, vehicles and houses.
One person in the home was taken to hospital for burns and was released shortly after, he said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage is estimated at $75,000.
