Man charged after stabbing in Toronto leaves 1 dead, another injured

Police say a man has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Toronto that left one man dead and another critically injured.

Emergency crews were called to Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue on Tuesday at around 10:18 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, police said they found two men with stab wounds.

Police said 24-year-old man from Newcastle, Ont., was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A second man, 25-years-old, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, he is currently in stable condition.

Police said 22-year-old Haroon Imran from Toronto was arrested and has been charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.

Officers said he is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
