The 34-year-old-victim suffered serious injuries but is expected to recover, police told Global News on Monday morning.

“He was in and out of consciousness as he was being treated at the scene, and he was rushed to hospital where he received further treatment,” wrote Sgt. Steve Addison by email. “We think he will survive.”

The incident took place in a building near Main and Hastings streets just before 9 p.m. Police said they were called to reports of two men arguing and “getting violent.”
