It was a game billed at Roberto Luongo vs. Cory Schneider – but it was Jason Garrison who made his mark felt most.

Garrison ended the game at 2:18 of overtime with a shot from the point, giving the Canucks a 3-2 win against the New Jersey Devils and extending their early season win streak to three games.

Roberto Luongo made 21 saves for the Canucks, while Schneider, traded to New Jersey at the NHL entry draft for the 9th overall pick, made 30 saves.

Schneider was given a loud cheer from the fans at Rogers Arena before the game began – but when the game was on, the Canuck faithful treated him like any other goalie, taunting him from time to time.

The Devils scored first in the game, with 41-year-old Jaromir Jagr, in perhaps his last game ever in Vancouver, scoring the 683rd goal of his career with 1:08 left in the first period.

They added to the margin early in the second, with Patrick Elias scoring his second goal of the game at 7:23 of the second period to give the Devils a 2-0 lead.

But the Canucks tied the game less than seven minutes later, with Daniel Sedin tipping a Chris Tanev shot past Schneider to put Vancouver on the board, followed by Edler scoring in close following a pair of nifty Sedin passes.

From there, neither team scored for the rest of regulation, sending the Canucks to their second straight overtime session.
